There are a few aspects to your “status.” You’ll have to check each of them to have a clear picture of your financial aid standing.
FalconNest
Student Requirements
The first place to look is the Financial Aid tab of your FalconNest Financial Aid Dashboard. The home screen, called Student Requirements, shows urgent tasks or notifications for a given aid year. We strongly recommend that students check their Students at least once a week so they will stay up-to-date with financial aid.
If a task is still outstanding, it have a red outline. If you have taken care of the task, it will have a green outline. Almost all outstanding requirements will prevent disbursement. This means you will not receive your money, so it's important to take care of them as soon as possible!
Many requirements require you to upload additional documents or complete a form. This can be done by clicking the text of the requirement. Some have links, for example to a URL from our verification servicer ProEd from which you can access a given form. It will ask you to enter your email and then you will receive the form to your email. Follow the instructions to upload your documentation or complete the form.
Offer
The Offer tab is where you can view your financial aid offer.
Satisfactory Academic Progress
The Satisfactory Academic Progress tab breaks down your SAP status. It is the most accurate way to check your SAP standing.
BankMobile
BankMobile is a banking partner Solano works with to get your funds to you. With a few small exceptions—most notably the Solano Promise’s $200 textbook grant—all disbursements will go through BankMobile before they reach your bank account.
BankMobile will tell you if they have received the disbursement funds from Solano prior to your funds actually appearing in your bank account. Disbursements take place on Mondays and take 5–7 days business days for the funds to actually be deposited and usable in your bank account. If you’re included on a Monday disbursement, BankMobile will update to let you know when they have received your disbursement (usually by Thursday or Friday of the same week). It may still take a few more days until the funds are actually deposited into your bank account.
Student Email
In general, the Financial Aid Office communicates with students through FalconNest Student Requirements rather than email. However, it is still critical that students get in the habit of checking their student email regularly. If not once a day, then at least once a week. Students are responsible for knowing important information sent to their school email.
studentaid.gov (FAFSA website)
Most students know the studentaid.gov website as the place where they submit the FAFSA. However, it is much more than that. It is also an extremely valuable resource to learn about and monitor your federal financial aid throughout your educational career. Please go back to it periodically to stay informed about important topics in financial aid—for example, loan repayment options.
