Refund Preference
You decide how you will receive cash aid aid that is due to you by selecting a “refund preference” at BankMobile. You have two choices:
- Deposit to Existing Account.
- Money is transferred to your existing checking or savings account the same business day BankMobile receives funds from Solano Community College. Your bank may take some time to make that money available to you.
- Deposit to a BankMobile Vibe Checking Account
- If you open an account with BankMobile and your identity is verified, money is deposited the same business day BankMobile receives funds from Solano Community College.
If you do not choose a refund preference, a paper check will be mailed to the address on file with BankMobile after 21 days.
Personal Code
You will receive a green envelope in the mail with the personal code you will need to set up a login on the BankMobile site and select your refund preference. You also have the option to request a personal code directly from the BankMobile Disbursements website.
Issues with Your Card, Account, or Password
If you are having trouble logging in to your BankMobile Disbursements account, you can reset your password. If you continue to have trouble or have other concerns about your card or account, contact BankMobile Disbursements by phone (1-877-327-9515).
Transferring From Another School That Used BankMobile
If you transferred to Solano Community College from a school that also used BankMobile disbursements, your accounts cannot be merged. You must use the new BankMobile account that Solano created for you. You will need to associate it with a separate email from the one previously used for your the other school's BankMobile account.
When Will My Refund Be Available?
Check the disbursement calendar to find the scheduled disbursement date. This is the date that the financial aid office will begin the disbursement process. The entire process from when Solano requests money from the government to when the funds are sent by BankMobile to your bank or, if appliable, deposits them into your BankMobile Vibe account, takes 5–7 business days.
Students with the BankMobile Vibe Checking Account may have their funds available 1–2 days earlier. This depends on whether your personal bank holds on to your disbursement while they verify it. Most often, there is little difference in timing.
Time-Outs and Reversals
Financial Aid refunds will time-out if a refund preference has not been selected within 21 calendar days after the refund has been released by the college. Before a refund times-out BankMobile will send you an email with a reminder to select a refund preference.
After 21 days, BankMobile will mail a check to your primary address on file. If you do not deposit or cash the check within 90 days, it will become void and your Financial Aid refund will be returned. You will still have the opportunity to select a refund preference and receive your funds after they are returned to the college. However, you must to notify the Financial Aid Office when you have made a refund selection before we can reissue your disbursement.
